IBM Punch Cards.

Rivera-Pollock Punch Card Series:

Seven paintings produced on the 1972 Ford Pickup Truck assembly line. The Ford Rouge complex in Dearborn,MI. Using available colors, that is, of that years Ford Truck 'touch- up" paint. IBM Computer punch cards where used as "canvas". This is my first computer related work.

Sketches for the sources of the fresco Detroit Industry where done by Diego Rivera at this Ford Rouge complex. The punch card series is intended as a salute to Diego Riveras' fabulous fresco at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

As a journeyman Millwright (AFL,CIO) I installed conveyors in factories in the Detroit and New York City areas (1964-76). Summer (1972) I was hired by a contractor to tear out and install a large section of an assembly line at the Ford Rouge complex: these paintings where created on work brakes.
